Apricity
- apricity /æˈprɪsɪti/ noun
- The warmth of the sun in winter. From Latin apricus, “exposed to the sun.”
This year we turn toward the light that arrives in the coldest season. We invite poems, prose, and visual art about hope and perseverance through dark times, and about the quiet warmth that gets us through them.

Founded in 1855, Rushlight has always been devoted to publishing art and writing by Wheaton College students. Although each issue has a unique theme, we publish all kinds of creative work, so feel free to submit!
-
Rushlight invites students to submit their creative works, which are then reviewed by our art and literary teams to determine which ones will go into the magazine. We look forward to giving student work the chance to reach a wider campus audience. Please consider submitting to our next issue!
-
Rushlight hosts a variety of events throughout the year. At the end of each spring semester, we launch our newest issue, giving writers a chance to read their newly published work and putting visual art submissions on display
-
The Rushlight team is composed of diligent student volunteers who work year-round to bring the magazine to life. We are split up into 6 teams, including literary editors, art editors, layout, web, social media, and events. Coordinated by our exec board, each team has something unique to offer that brings Rushlight to life.
-
Every year, the Rushlight exec board chooses a theme for our annual issue. While we hope this inspires artists and writers to create interesting and unique works, your submissions do not have to fit the theme in order to be published in Rushlight. This year's theme: Apricity.
